Here at Najell we are aware of the importance of social and environmental responsibility. We are always working towards becoming even more environmentally friendly. From the drawing table and product development, using recycled materials and limiting transportation, the environment is our first concern.
Workers & factories
As a global brand, we respect and value the workers right in every country and put a high demand for safe working conditions in our factories. Our products are all made in the same factory, where we are present a couple of times a year. We do make absolutely sure that the working conditions are good and acceptable. Child labour would of course never be tolerated.
Material & Durability
All our products are made to last. When choosing materials for our products, high quality, aesthetics, the environment and long lasting is the main criteria. The products are made to be used by many children and nothing would make us happier than knowing that the products will be resold, reused and passed down generations. Both the fabric and other parts of the product like buckles, zippers and buttons are of high quality and intended to last.
All the fabrics we use, are always OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, product class 1 certificated. That means that all components of the produced item have to comply with the required criteria without exception. Meaning that, in addition to the outer material, sewing threads, linings, prints and all non-textile accessories like zippers and buttons are made in an environmentally friendly way.
The material used in our products is free from toxic material and harmful substances, both during and after production. Every product we make, demands at least two hours of sewing. Because of that, it is extremely important that the fabric is good and not harmful while being made. It is important to make sure that the products are both good for the children that wear and use the product as well as the workers who make them.
We are always looking for new ways to become more environmentally friendly. In the footmuff, we use recycled material and that is something we would like to do more off. Without compromising on quality. The material we use, DuPont™ Sorona®, contains 37% annually renewable plant-based ingredients by weight. Sorona® polymer production also uses 30% less non-renewable energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 63% compared to the production of an equal amount of nylon 6.
Transportation is one part of the equation that we have to consider. As most of our material is bought in Asia, we limit transportation by producing our products there. Najell is a global company that sells products all over the world and partly in Asia. That does make the decision to have our production located in China easier. We do our best to limit the number of shipments and we always use sea and truck transportation, except for very few occasions where we have had to keep a deadline.
The environment is close to our hearts and sustainable production is really the core of our business. We are aware that actions speak louder than words and we try our best to live up to what we say. All our products are therefore made from OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, product class 1 certified material and our factory have an ISO 9001 certification.
