3 tips to help your baby sleep
There is no best way to help your baby to get them in sleep: What matters is that you should feel good about how you deal with your child's night's rest. Having a strong sense of safety is going to matter much more in the sleep of your baby than the weight or nutrition of your baby. Here are three tips that are worth to try. From then it is up to you and your family to find out what will or not will work. Always remember, everyone is different.
The routines
Try to figure out an routine which will work the best for you. A 'going to bed routine' could be that you bring the baby to his room, putting the pyjamas on, closing the curtains, singing a song or give couple of hugs and whisper some words like ''I love you, go sleep a little''.
A routine like that could also be taking a bath, or reading a story. It's important that you follow the exact same routine, so consistent as possible. Over time, the baby will learn that sleeps comes right after the night routines.
Doing less naps
It's difficult to wake a baby while its sleeping. But letting the baby sleep during the day can give him less night rest. Every child is different so try to figure out how many hours of sleep your baby needs during the day to still sleep good at nights. For most of the child is two o'clock the best, but this can be different for every child. If you have the feeling that your child needs longer naps, feel free to increase the nap times. Because you know your child the best!
A good rule to remember is, the often your child sleeps, the longer it will sleep. Trying to hold your baby up from sleeping will not do any good. This ensures that your baby will sleep shorter, and not longer.
Keep moving
Not long ago your baby lived in the womb and she was drowsy asleep while you did your daily things. Moving is still working as a sleep-inducing for your child. You may have already noticed this when your baby was in the car or on the train, in the pram.
Walking slowly in the room or having a short walk outside can help pretty good. With the SleepCarrier you can hold your child just as close as if you were holding the child around your arm, without getting too heavy. By swinging the SleepCarrier back and forth with the movement of your body you calm your baby. When the baby has fallen asleep, you can easily lay down the litter and the child can continue to sleep without being disturbed. The SleepCarrier is also perfect for going out with the stroller. Use the SleepCarrier to gently lift the baby out of the pram without waking it up.
We wish you and your baby a good night rest.
