4 things to NOT feel guilty about as a new parent
Being a new parent can be hard. Nothing can really prepare you for these first few months with a newborn and there’s many things new parents will feel guilty about. Especially in this time, when you are overthinking everything anyway, it’s important to remember that you’re doing a good job and that no one is perfect.
Here are some things you might feel guilty about, but have absolutely no reason to do so:
1. Rocking your baby
Those newborn days end really quickly, and pretty soon they’ll be way too busy exploring the world to snuggle with you. So take time to soak up your baby’s smell while it’s still small. And it won’t ruin their ability to sleep on their own in the future. If you need help moving your sleeping baby you can check out the SleepCarrier here.
2. Not going outside
In the first time with a newborn, your home feels like a cozy cocoon as you get to know your new little family member. Some people want to get out of the house immediately, but if you want to take your time before you go back out there, don’t let anyone tell you you’re doing the wrong thing.

3. Wanting to get out on your own
Especially if you’re a breastfeeding mum, it can be hard to leave your baby for some time, but even a quick trip to the grocery store can make you feel like you’re more than just a caretaker again. And don’t worry, your partner is just as capable of caring for your baby as you are.
4. Cold / quick dinner
As long as your baby doesn’t go hungry, it’s totally understandable if you don’t feel like cooking a big dinner, but would rather order something or just have something quick and cold like cereal or a sandwich.
