3 tips to help your baby sleep
There isn't a right way to help get your baby to sleep. What matters is that you should feel good about how you deal with your child's night time sleep. Having a strong sense of safety is important when it comes to the sleep of your baby. We have complied three tips that are worth considering. Overall, it is up to you and your family to find out what will or won't work for your baby. Always remember, everyone is different.
Sleep routine
Trying to figure out a routine which will work the best for you can take some time but is worth putting into practice. A bedtime routine could be bringing your baby to his room, putting his pyjamas on, closing the curtains, singing a song and giving a couple of hugs and whisper some words like ''I love you, it's sleepy time now''.
Another routine could be taking a bath, reading a story, or using a familiar item like a sleeping bag. The cue of lying the baby down and zipping them into a cosy sleeping back, is great sleep association. It's important that you are as consistent as possible. Over time, the baby will learn that sleeps comes right after the night routine.
Nap length
It may feel strange waking a baby while they're sleeping, but letting a baby sleep a lot during the day can sometime give them less sleep at night. Every child is different so try to figure out how many hours of sleep your baby needs during the day to still sleep good at nights. If you have the feeling that your child needs longer naps, feel free to increase the nap times. Because you know your child the best!
Keep moving
Not long ago your baby lived in the womb and she was drowsy or asleep while you did your daily activities. Moving can still be a sleep-inducer for your child. You may have already noticed this when your baby is in the car, baby carrier or in the pram.
With the SleepCarrier you can hold your child just as close as if you were holding the child around your arm, without getting too heavy. By moving the SleepCarrier back and forth with the movement of your body you calm your baby. When the baby has fallen asleep, you can easily place the SleepCarrier down and the child can continue to sleep without being disturbed. The SleepCarrier is also perfect for going out with the stroller. Use the SleepCarrier to gently lift the baby out of the pram without waking it up.
We wish you and your baby a great night's sleep!
