5 Ways to become more environmentally friendly before the baby arrives

Every parent just wants the best for their child and this includes a good environment to grow up in. Babyproofing your whole apartment is probably the first thing most people think about when it comes to this topic, but creating a greener environment for your little one is just as important.

There’s several ways to become more eco - friendly before the birth of your child, here are some of them:

1. Switch to greener cleaning products

Many of us still use chemical - laden cleaning products and laundry detergents and stuff like that all over the house, but there’s many green alternatives to them that get your house just as clean, are safer for the baby and friendlier to the environment.

2. Shop for baby products that can be used for longer

Try to buy products that you can use for as long as possible. Like our baby carrier that can be used all the way from newborn to 3 years old. If you shop clothes, go for gender neutral colours so you can reuse them for future siblings.

3. Keep the air clean

Plants don’t only add to the decor, but are also filtering the air.

4. Have your guests take their shoes off at the door.

Your baby will be in a lot of contact with the floor, no matter if it’s during learning to roll over or crawling, so you don’t want everyone to spread dirt from outside all over the floor. If your are looking for a great play mat to keep your baby off the ground at home you can check out the SleepCarrier here.
